6 Weeks in Southeast Asia

Today I depart for a 6-week adventure to Southeast Asia! I am excited and looking forward to experiencing the sights and sounds of a different part of the world that I have never seen before.

Traveling has always been something that I have enjoyed. From trips to the lake, week long golf trips down south, or a few weeks in Europe on a family vacation, traveling is always a highlight of mine every year. Whether it be for leisure or work and with friends or family, it is always nice to get away from our daily routine and experience something different (hopefully more relaxing!) for any amount of time.

I have had my fair share of international travel in the past and each time has proven to be a unique and memorable experience. I am sure this trip will do the same, although it will be quite different than anything I have experienced before. Aside from the obvious ‘culture shock’ of living in Thailand and Indonesia for 6 weeks, I am excited to explore, meet new people, try new things, and learn about a culture that is rich in history and beauty.

Traveling on my own for this journey will make it that more interesting. I am not going with a strict itinerary or the plan to travel with a large tour group, instead I look forward to relaxing and taking it day-by-day on my own schedule to explore wherever I decide to go.

As I sit writing this post in the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge (thanks Jeff!) waiting to depart for my first flight to Vancouver, I can only imagine what to expect over the next 6 weeks. The only thing I know for certain is that it will be a trip I will never forget. I can’t wait to get lost in Thailand!

I look forward to sharing my experiences of my trip with everyone on social media and through this blog.

Until next time,
